Big Seat Improvement

I purchased a major brand seat for my 2018 because it had a channel down the middle to relieve the pressure and pain I was getting from leaning forward on the seat. Damage and dissatisfaction with the seat we’re the reasons I returned it. So I peeled the cover on the factory seat and cut out a valley to remove that pressure. Check out the pictures. The results are so good I simply don’t need to even consider a replacement seat. This is a mod I highly recommend. All you need beyond tools to cut the foam is a good stapler (I used an air powered stapler) with 1/4” staples, preferably stainless steel. Although you see a faint outline of the cutout area, it’s actually barely noticeable in real life. If necessary I’ll run some red stitching in line with the edges of the cutout to match the bike or something to add a nice touch

Nice mod. I might have to give this a shot. I am finally getting back in the saddle after being away for a few years due to life. I still have my 08 Busa I bought new in 2008. This could save me some serious coin on a new seat. Thanks!

Out of curiosity, what brand seat did you have? I'm looking at getting a Saddlemen seat for mine.

I bought the saddlemen and was fooled into thinking it was all leather and only the top was. The pillion cover that came with it was vinyl, too. Totally misleading advertising. Plus it had a rip on the front edge so back it went. The mid I did works excellent!!
