What are the best tires for street riding? I dont like the stock tires, I do alot of highway riding with some twisties, but more highway and through town. Suggestions? I had reg power pilots when I had my R1 and they werent bad, heard the pp 2 ct are good. What about the Hpx ? Help me out ladies and gents!:beerchug:

Its hard to explain but in a nutshell I felt the power pilots were better at cornering and just traction overall. I have came out of a few corners and felt as though the bike was gonna kick out on me. This is a feeling i never got with the power pilots, so i dunno if its just preference but i have read that alot of riders ditch the stock tires and go elsewhere. So I just want to see what people have to say and suggest about this all.

I have always loved Dunlop D208s. Worked well on my 600, now working well on my Busa. Long life, great wear and grips well enough for normal street riding.

Okay, so you're comparing the tires between your R1 and Busa. Since when does the R1 have the same low-end torque as the Busa? Coming out of corners is where you will notice it the most. I ran PP2's on my Busa on the track and they are no different than the PP until you are leaned over past the footpegs. You have to gradually roll on the throttle on the Busa with any tires not to spin up and step out.

If you want better grip try a BT016. The rear tire is divided into 3 compounds. They are the best feeling street tire I have ridden on. You won't out-ride those on the street unless you're making mistakes.

I like high speed driving on the highway and the ability to take a corner at decent speeds. how are they for that aspect?

My r1 was very heavily moded, and had much more acceleration then my busa stock, but that will be changing when I get into moding the busa as the busa makes more power. Im
simple looking for better tires as im not a fan of the stock ones... All i was saying was I liked the feel of the power pilots vs the stock busa tires.

I loved my Pilot Powers on the Busa. Almost 3000 miles and were wearing great and I never once felt like they were letting go even riding them to the edge. I have a CBR now with 2ct's but I never tried them on the Busa as I figured they wouldn't wear as well with the Busa's torque and weight. If mileage isn't an issue though, I don't think you can go wrong with either.

Just for clarification, the PP2CT uses the same center compound as the regular PP. The sides where the softer compound is won't even be used until you are grinding the pegs off.

The BT016 is a great all around tire. If fact I would say it's the best all around tire I have used.

As far as you R1, if may feel stronger than the Busa because it's lighter. I have yet to find an R1 that makes as much low-end as a Busa without spray. There is no replacement for displacement. It will take putting your Busa on a serious diet to know that. Put them both on a dyno where the weight doesn't come into play and you will see.

If the twisties aren't a main priority I'd recommend you check out the Power Road 2's. Excellent mileage, awesome in the rain, and not bad at all in the twisties. I have almost 6000 miles on them and the rear has plenty of tread left and is just barely starting to square off, even after numerous rolling burnouts.

Best tires for the street, Shinko 009's. Want something with more stick? Go with the 005's. They are around $100.00, a great buy.

Avon Storms is what I have. I have read so many post and from what I have read the Storms is the best for me. Living in Fl 98% of my riding is straight up. The other 2% is u turns or getting off the highway.
