Best price on Carrillo Rods . . .

The best price I have found so far on Carrillo H-Beams is $965/set from POWERHOUSE MOTORCYCLES (Powerhouse Motorcycles NY : Full Service Sport Bike Dynojet Tuning Specialists) - they don't even charge shipping!:cheerleader:

Are there any vendors out there that can beat that price?:fight:

I've always heard Carrillo made good rods....but for the most part i've seen all the High HP turbos running the 280k bolt Crowers, can you explain why somebody would run Carrillo over Crower or vice versa

People on these forums are always looking for a deal on good products, no matter what the source. APE sells both Crower and Carrillo, and this is what they state on their own web site:

CARRILLO
Fully CNC machined from chrome moly forgings, Carrillos are the strongest rods available for motorcycles. Features multiphase bolts.

Why risk distruction of the complete lower end when Carrillos provide that extra cushion of protection.

Crowers have always been for the "budget minded". That is why when the price of Carrillos went sky high, Crowers got a push. Now that the price is down, why not get the best - Carrillo? One thing for sure, competition is getting fierce out there - and when it comes to H-beams, I have seen more Carrillos than Crowers. It would be great to see an unbiased, side-by-side comparison of the two - the H-beam Crowers with the upgraded bolts, and the H-beam Carrillos with their standard multiphase bolts.

And I would still be interested in whether or not any of the sponsors of this site would (or could) beat the price quoted on Carrillos . . .:poke:

well most failures are not part related in the first place... Rod failures typically come from tuneup issues or oil starvation..

If you pick parts by "ad copy" you may want to check out Lord Humormongus on cheesbay bike parts... You can gain like 30 ponies with some super duper rubber hose induction system..

and about the cheeleader thing for this parts house? weak....

The first board sponsor I called beat the price... pretty hard to get over on these guys here..

ive seen corillos fail and have posts to prove it
crowers are stronger when you use the upgraded bolts

also the H beam is a weaker design then an I beam (im a designer/tool maker and this answer i know by design aspects)

Randy-

thats what its about - competition.

So - who is the sponsor, and what was the price quoted?
Can the rest of us know????

WELL SAID. IT IS VERY IMPORTANT TO REMEMBER SALES SERVICE AND FOLLOW UP. Over the years i am always amazed to hear problems with the cheap suppliers. Our sponsors are here because they are good honest and fair. Ninja Eater

You need to pick up a phone and call... many items are subject to "agreements" on pricing and you can not always post what you are selling them for.. Besides that issue... SERVICE AFTER the sale is another issue that more often than not makes the purchase worthwhile... Org sponsors without exception have proved that they are going to fix any problems...

We ran very few steel rods... blown motors on alcohol or nitro can not run a steel rod.. (well you could) but we need the rods to "give" a bit should any detonation occur.. On our N/A pure motors, I ran what was on sale..

Problem with forged aluminum is that it 'work hardens' over time and we have to keep a log of just how many runs are on them... back to the brand war thing... most of this is personal preference and history with a brand, a guy i comfortable working with a specific brand, he sticks with it,, his rep is on the line..... I beam/H beam is another debate that often follows...

If you feel better running one brand over the other go for it.. IMO, it makes just about zero difference which ever you decide is best.. if you keep the thing tuned correctly and the oil system happy, either will last as long as the rest of the motor..

Ford vs Chevy, Honda vs Suzuki, Crower vs Carillo I have seen fails on every side of all the arguments.. Some guys might even make a case for a reworked set of stock rods..

I am just sure that if either brand of rod had any kind of "deficency" it would not take long for the racing community to blow the whistle...

After function is determined, I choose parts based on "contingency" money myself... pay us to win, we run your stuff... (Golden rule, guy with the gold, makes the rules) :)

back to the point of this post. S&K racing gave me the best price I could find anywhere for all of my engine build parts. I'm not going to quote the price I got but I'll tell you that he beat any price I've seen quoted here by a good margine.

You can give better pricing when you sell a package of parts not just one piece...
