Ok what I have investigated is that one of the top 3D graphic card for vidio and gaming is Nvidia ti 4600 gforce. What do you computer junkies think? Also it looks like it suppoerts multi monitors but only with adapters. Not like my #D permedia that supports 4 monitors all plug in. let me know what you guys and gals think.

I love my 4600... But, supposedly ATI's new beast is giving it a run for the money. I have owned several ATI's in the past and found occassional problems. No problems whatsoever with my Nvidia...

$.02 *take it or leave it*

I love the GForce line of cards. I have a GForce four now with 64K Ram. I do a lot of computer gaming so I have to keep up.

Ack, might have to upgrade again.

What do you play? PM me if you are shy.

Check out www.tomshardware.com, info on the latest cards is out there. I was looking at getting a new vidya card to play "Enter the Matrix" since my Geforce2 doesnt seem to be up to par. I was looking at getting a Geforce4 Ti 4600, looked like the best one for the money ($120). Hope this helps.

Best bang for the buck: ATI Radeon 9500 Pro (Connect3d or Sapphire)
You want something from nvidia: GF4 Ti 4600 with 128Mb RAM onboard
Best of the best of the best: either
- GF 5900 Ultra 256Mb or
- ATI Radeon 9800 Pro 256Mb

All of em are DX9 compliant bar the GF4

Edit: BEWARE of the GF 5800 series, they are good cards, but sound like a f###ing 747 taking off (rated at 65 to 70 db)

NightStalker said it all...

There are good expensive graphic cards, but the best buy is always the cheapest you can find, and buy as often as you can...

It is best to spend $200 today and other $200 next year, then to spend $400 and hoping that the graphic card will last 2 years, because it won't... There are always new cards coming out almost everyday.

The ATI chip is probably the best, but nVidia doesn't give as much problems as the ATI since it has been on the market longer and has many more patches and corrections. nVidia has been the leader of the market for the last years and usually the majority of the software is written specifically to these cards.

Correct me if I am wrong! This is my point view and is as valid as anyone else's, although it was my line of work until recently.

Best $100 card right now:

Nvidia GeForce FX 5200 AGP4X 128mb with TV out....

Put it on my new system, and fantastic for the $100 price range.
