Battery Upgrade, Please Read.

Ok everyone,

I was reading around and looking from the searches performed on the .org, but I did not find the information I was looking for.

I would like to at some point upgrade my stock battery, to a new one with more cranking power and a better product. I have a GEN1 2007. My question is in two parts.

1.) What are the specifications of the stock battery?
2.) What are the gains for upgrading rather than replacing with an OEM battery?

OEM battery:

YT12A-BS - 6" x 3 7/16" x 4 3/16" 176 Cold Cranking Amps

Upgraded battery:

YTZ14S - 6" x 3 7/16" x 4 3/8" 235 Cold Cranking Amps

I use and sell a ctz battery works great and will crank a 1397 no problem more ccca than most...A few members here have them..fits stock location..

Golden, what are the CTZ specifications on the battery you are mentioning?

You may want to look into a Gel or AGM battery.

I have had my original battery since May 2005 and it is still going strong...

I understand that my battery is good now but when it does deside to on me, then I need to know what to replace it with. I would much rather prefer to upgrade and pay the additional 30-40 bucks difference from OEM to Aftermarket.
