Balance wheels

Is it important to balance the wheels? I see the majority of the bikes out here and there not balanced.

well I can tell you this. I polished the wheels on my katana and accidentaly wiped away the front balancers. So ever since then the bike had a MAJOR shake when letting go at 40mph and up.

Tires are a lot better today then just ten years ago, but I still think the answer to your question is "Yes". As it can lead to head shake or a host of other handling issues. Not mentioning the extra wear I'm sure it puts on the tire prematurely. Most folks I know static balance their wheels..........
