Bagster or Saddlebags?

I might be riding to the bash from Florida and am thinking about getting the Bagster or saddle bags. Which ones do you recommend? I know they don't make the bagster in my color but ever since I saw them at the bash last year I've been wanting them. I saw both of them on Pashnit.com. Thanks!!

Bagsters are nice, but cover up that purple?

If they made them in purple I would totally buy one! It would only be used for traveling long distances.

Another option... Alsa Corp | The World's Most Exotic Paints and Finishes they make paint that could be painted over the leather to match.

I spray Sikkens paint all day at work on cars but i have learned from the reps that with the right additives it could be used to paint on flexible materials such as tank bags. Could be another option.

I've got the soft bags Nelson-Rigg. You can pack a lot in them and they come off easy to carry into your room like two small suit cases. Very happy with mine.

I love my bagster but for a long haul I would want to be able to carry as much as possible....

I would be tempted to get the saddle bags.

you can check ebay for some good deals. Newenough.com had a crazy sale on soft saddle bags about a year ago. Some of us jumped on that. I plan on try'n mine out for the first time @ the spring bash

I priced the saddlebags and the bagster with the 30 liter bag and they priced about the same. If I do end up riding to the bash I have to get new tires. It sucks that I don't know yet because I'm waiting on orders which may conflict my riding plans. I just LOOOOVE that Bagster though! I'll probably end up with both someday.

Pashnit's bike looks awesome!

4-5 weeks delivery for bagster.
you will need additional luggage for a road trip.
I use a Bagster and a Ventura rack with 2 - 51 liter bags. After the trip is over, just unbolt the rack and store it until the next trip.
If you buy saddle bags (they will touch the body work) be careful to cover any painted surface or they will dull the finish. Use painters tape or 3m clear film.

Thanks for the tips. I saw the Ventura rack last night and it looks like they're sent from New Zealand. How long did it take to get yours shipped?
