Backfiring

My 03 stock busa will usually backfire on decelleration when I open up the throttle. Does anyone know what would cause this to happen? I am running the bike at higher elevation, don't know if that makes a difference or not.

My 05 has never backfired...the highest elevation I get to is around 6,000 FT.

my 05 never does it even at elevation. Might try the marble mod.

Mine will do it if I'm running hard and the throttle bodies need to be synced.

Check for an exhaust leak near the header bolts.

if you replaced the stock exhaust did you remember to remove the pair valve?

I forgot to mention that it's spitting out some black smoke if I rev it up sitting in neutral. There is also a very hitch wine coming from the front of the engine compatment. Not very loud, just noticable enough to be hear. It's a continious sound and my experience with exhaust leaks at the header where usually a ticking sound, but I could be wrong.

Can old sparkplugs, dirty injectors, or problems with the O2 sensor cause my bike to backfire?
