Hey guys, my birthday is comin up in a couple weeks and my gf has been askin me what I want. A few months ago I was surfin around and found some auto tinting face shields, but I guess I didn't save the site into my favorates cause I can't find them anywhere. . . Does anyone know where I can find em? I need to show her what I want. Thanks in advance for the help.

Akuma has a couple variations of this...they have a TOD (tint on demand) and a Sunshift Visor that tints according to the light outside...
Not to be a buzzkill, but I wouldn't hold your breath for those Akuma TOD visors. They've been promising to release them "this summer" for several years now. If they ever get on the ball and get them released I'll be the first one in line but I'm getting a little tired of waiting. The patent has been filed since '96 and they're still not for sale, kind of makes one think that if they were going to do it they'd have done it by now. Perhaps they're just sitting on the patent to keep the competition from being able to market it.

Im trying to get a akuma tod helmet. There is a video on theyre site that shows the magic in action. SVEET!

Thanks man!!! That's exactly the site I was lookin for, but I couldn't find it anywhere. I just looked at the site, though and am wondering 2 things. #1, will the sunshift only fit on akuma helmets and #2, is has sunshift been released for sale yet? I notice there's no price or "add to cart" button. I knew the TOD wasn't, but I thought the sunshift was. . .

What's wrong with tinted visors as they are? I don't ride at night by choice, but use mine at night when I have to w/ no problems. I also have 20/20 vision so maybe it effects those worse who wear glasses.

No problem...not too sure about the fitment and availability...you would want to check with Akuma or local dealer to be certain...Scorpion offers a similar product to the Sunshift, but again it maybe exclusive to Scorpion helmets...check with them or a dealer to make sure...I attached a link for it too....again be sure to let us all know your findings...good luck

Just checked the FAQ at akuma's site and it said the sunshift is currently only available for akuma helmets. TOD not released yet.

I have in stock the Fog City insert for most helmets that tint with sunlight and lighten up when it ges dark, they work very good and are reasonably priced..

Fog City

I purchased some dark auto tinting a walmart ($12.00 I think), put a 1"+/- strip along the inside of my clear visor.

On sunny days, I wear my sunglasses, but when directly looking into sun, I tip my head down slightly and look through the top tinted section as well, works good

Just get yourself an EXO-1000 much better helmet than the Akuma and it has a dark flip down visor internal to the helmet takes 1 second to go from dark to clear not to mention the EXO-1000's are resonablly priced as well

I have 3 tinted and 3 clear visors,I leave 1 of each in work if needed for ride home depending on what time I leave but ever since putting HID's on,I can wear tinted 24/7 no problem, amazing how bright and clear everything is with a HID
