Today was my Advanced Rider Training class and just as you read I did it.
Body positioning drills to the left first off and I got my knee down on the third go! Super exciting the first time you hear puck on pavement.

The same drill going right and I got my knee down the first time! Unfortunately my body position sucked and I leaned the bike right out of tire. Fortunately the only thing hurt was my pride.

Here's the scene of the crime.

Got the can, fairing, and front fender too(courtesy of that light). Bummer.

At first I was gonna say those beetle bags make expensive sliders but saved the rest.

Somebody will have a free can for ya I'm sure, and maybe you can find those plastics used for a decent price. Save the paint and decal hassle. Althou if I slid...I would see it as oportunity....

Custom paint. Now ya know you wanna lean, that wont go away now. Next time, bags off and maybe front axle, rear spool, frame and bar end sliders. :2cents:

Sorry to hear about your get-off. Sounds like you ask a little more out of those Michelin Pilot Roads than they were capable of handling.

I'll get some pics of the tires today. They are scuffed for sure, but in the end my lean angle was too far. A case of really bad body position.

I didn't want to get my butt over and off because I didn't trust that my leg would hold the tank.

And thanks all for the suggestions too!

Just for the rest of you who have never scuffed up your knee puck with both wheels still on the asphalt, you shouldn't be struggling to get your knee down for the first time on a cold touring tire in a parking lot or anywhere else for that matter.

Fwiw I scrubbed my tires prior to beginning the drills session and it was the hottest day we've had this year.

I do understand that you are quite knowledgeable in tires though and I thank you for your input.
