Actually it is not as difficult as you may think... It's really quite simple. Lower your gearing for more acceleration, and all of the sudden especially if it is altered significantly, 80MPH reads as 120, 120 reads as 160...Not all that hard... Just a theory mind you...But I bet I am close to a dark secret here...Revlis.....just watched one of the nickslick and crazytrain videos...how the heck do those guys do that stuff. 180+ with traffic and other bikes around? How do they do sharp turns at 70mph? Amazing skills, I can't even do a tollway on-ramp at 50 mph yet...to freaking scared still and my top end is only 120...do these folks learn these skills at tracks or do they just ride twisties all day long and are good at it?
Yeah, This is what I am talking about, and this is why I no longer go for the big speed numbers. I figure I have gone as fast as she can go so there isn't a point in repeating it.I saw this test of leather for skid resistance. At 60 MPH the leather skid for 80 ft before burning thru. Jeans lasted 4 feet - they just peeled off basically. If you drop onto the pavement at 100-120 MPH you are going to skid for at least 300 feet and maybe more. That is a football field in length. If the leather burns off in 80 feet, you get to slide another 220 ft on your a$$. Perhaps a good technique is to keep moving while sliding so no part of your leather has to slide more than 60 ft???
Just kiddding.
Bad move. If you try and "roll" at that speed you'll end up breaking every bone in your body, starting with the ones that stick out. Spread out, sop up as much speed as you can, and hope your gear holds up....If the leather burns off in 80 feet, you get to slide another 220 ft on your a$$.
