Anyone have Acl surgery? How long before back riding?

Going jan30th to have my left Acl reconstructed.now I have heard its a 6 month recovery. Hoping this is not true.I have alot harder time riding the busa now then the 14 cause the pegs are higher and it bothers my knee alot.anybody else have this done and how long till you were back at it.

Go slow, do the full PT regimen

yes its a long recovery. and get some adjustable rearsets to lower them

I had my ACL surgery in Dec 2008 and was riding by the Bash in April 2009.

Like others have said - do the PT. Oh - DO THE PT!! Doc had me in PT the very next morning.

If they give you resistance bands to use at home - use them! Do everything they tell you to do and more.

I guess it depends on what they do. I had an MCL reconstructed from my knee cap and shin. That was like 12 years ago. A friend tore his 5 or 6 years ago and they super glued it and he was running with me after three weeks. What I had done was an absolute six month recovery.
