Never Forgotten
I dropped the wifes 325 of at the dealership yesterday for a oil leak that developed 2-3 weeks ago.

I got the call yesterday afternoon that the oil filter houseing is cracked and theat BMW's certified pre-owned warranty will not cover the repair.

CPO claims that is a wear item. I really have a hard time on that statement. No moving parts, only oil flowing in and out.

Any suggestions from folks that are familar with BMW's warranties and customer service?

did they do the last oil change ? if so claim they overtightened it and caused the problem.

oh and BTW brakes clutches and winshield wipers are wearable items -- not oil filter adaptors

I wish it was that simple, I do my own oil services.

her e the item is cracked, near the top of the housing I am SOL.

I know I did not crack the housing, I just have no way to prove it.
