My bike sat-nav went wrong while I was updating it.
Got in touch with tomtom and they said it would cost me £86/$130 to repair.
After a few emails back and forth they said they would repair it for nothing.
Got it back today and they have sent me a brand new one.

I had Tom-Tom GPS a few years back. The unit was faulting. Customer service sucked. Never again.

 I got a $100 TomTom a handful of years ago and haven't had any issues. I have free updates for life but dont mess with it. It has never failed me. Pretty good for speed and top speed as well

I was lucky.
They did try to fob me off but I kept on at them telling them it was alright before the update.
And the sat-nav was 4 years old but had only been used for 2400 miles.
Sent the unit off to some where near London for repair and the new one was sent from back from Amsterdam.
