Got my first ride on the Powers today and I am in LOVE with them. They blow the D218's out of the water in EVERY aspect. They ride smoother, give better feedback, warm up quicker, handling is like a dream and even though they're not scrubbed in all the way they already grip like stink. They required no balancing weight on my wheels and are glass smooth on the road.

I'm going to finish scrubbing them in tomorrow if the weather forecast holds true. Supposed to be somewhere around 60 degrees and sunny. Can't wait to get my ride on!!!

You be sure to give us some photos of those puppies once you get the chicken strips scrubbed off! javascript: InstaSmilie()

I Picked up a used one at the bike shop a couple of weeks ago (190 Pilot Power that is) and put it on the rear of my gixxer. Still had about half life left so I though I'd use it for burn outs. I found I could spin it relatively easy, especially when the tire was a little cold. I don't think it's because the compound is not sticky, I think it's because of the profile of the tire. I've been doing wheelies on it but she is pretty wobbly when she is up high. Made me a little apprehensive on one wheel for a while. I didn't get her much over about eighty on one wheel. I think I'll finish the tire off this weekend and put a round profile tire back on. Much better for wheelies!

Have you tried Dunlop D218's? They are quite a bit rounder than the Powers.

I've noticed that when you get new tires, you'll always feel a big difference, especially if you've worn a flat spot down the middle of the tire, the roundness of the new tire makes a world of difference.

I have not owned the 218's but I rode a friends Gixxer with 218's and I had no complaints. They are a round profile tire. I personally like the BT014's but I think they are quite simular to the 218's?

I think any of the premium tires will perform much better than most of us can ride?

Yeah, that's true, but the 218 has a more rounded profile new comared to the Powers. Also, the edges kinda shoulder off on the 218's where the Powers have a pretty even slant all the way to the edge.

I'm not surprised, and I doubt you are either huh BT? I have never rode a better street tire. They simple are THAT good. I would encourage all members to get a piece of these, they are very confidence inspiring!

Here is my face when I am riding with them:

Yep, I knew you'd know where I'm coming from.

Having a set of Pirellis put on my bike now, but my next set will be the Powers. Of course at the rate I ride these days that could be another 5 or 6 years, so don't hold your breath!

I will be interested in your opinion on the comparison. Ive only ridden a bike with pirellis, never burned through a pair myself. I did try the M1s, and they are a very similar tire.

I will let ya and everyone else know. I think SageRonin has ridden both types on his bike and wrote was his thoughts were on it.

Well I have had the powers on my busa since october. I have been simply amazed by them. I got them right when they first came out and am SOOOOOOOOOOOOO glad I took the risk. My busa will definately get them again when these go bald! Awesome job on MIchelins part!

They really are just that damned good. I had them on when I busted my wheels, the thread with pics is around here somewhere, think the title was something about I"m a dumba$$. Even though the wheels were totally destroyed, the tires came through no problem. Got the same tires back on a new set of wheels right now.

Got mine scuffed in pretty good today. Not all the way over yet because I didn't get on the good roads without finding traffic. Anyway, the pics...
