The paper here says this year was one of the quietest anniversary's. Every year there are guys from that era that come and pay respects... Guys from both sides U.S. & Japan. My mother & father inlaw and many others who were alive on that day have told me of their experiences. The total wartime black that followed... I have been to the Arizona Memorial many times. It is a constant reminder that yes we are truely priviledged to live in a free society and should allways remember those that paid the ultimate price, and yet I also remember WAR SUCKS!
There was a program on the Discovery channel the other day about this. What really freaks me out is that they are actually letting the veterans of the Arizona be burried in the sunken ship. Spooky!
