2007 MAZDA RACEWAY LAGUNA SECA AMA CLASSES ANNOUNCED

PICKERINGTON, Ohio (December 8, 2006) - Officials from AMA Pro Racing and Mazda Raceway Laguna Seca announced today that the Red Bull U.S. Grand Prix will feature AMA Superbike and AMA Supersport classes along with the FIM MotoGP class. The combined event will be held on July 20-22, 2007 at Mazda Raceway Laguna Seca.

The second AMA Championship event to be held at the track in 2007 will be on Sept. 15-16 and will feature all four AMA classes: the AMA Superbike Championship presented by Parts Unlimited, the Pro Honda Oils Supersport Championship presented by Shoei, the Lockhart Phillips USA Formula Xtreme Series and the Repsol Lubricants Superstock Series.[/Quote]

With time and space constraints, it's probably better to run only 2 AMA classes. Superbike for sure. But Supersport

Mladin is the reason why Nick Hayden is where he is in MotoGP today. Nicky has even stated numerous times that Mat's competitiveness brought his game up to another level that the transition to MotoGP was a little easier on him.

Superbike this year is gonna be interesting with new faces like Hacking, Disalvo, Eric Bostrom and the Fast by Feracci MV Agusta team coming to the Superbike class for 07. But it'll still be Mladin and Spies dominating the class for sure.

FX would be a better choice. I just wish Zemke and Duhamel would run that class again. The level of competition has dropped dramatically ever since those guys left to focus on Superbike.

But at least SS will have Tommy Hayden, Jamie Hacking and a couple more factory riders too.
