Air Box Mod

This was one of my first mods and I loved it. It actually worked. I thought it was stupid to have to plug the valve house with something other than the vacuum valve, so that's what I did. I put the valve back in and didn't hook it up after the flapper was out. Simple procedure that rocks!

I will look into this mod and do it as I have another air box to cut out.
Now lets say with this mod, what do you loose n gain?
Any real input on this?
Are we loosing torque but gaining HP? How much of each n just an estimate.

I did this mod,a K&N air filter and a full HMF Hi-mount dual system a few weeks ago to my gen I. Dyno'd at 181 HP. Unfortunately I have no pre-mod numbers.

I'm happy enough with the number thou. 108 on the torque side.

I have this thing about weight. You lose a couple ounces tossing the valve.
