Aftermarket strator cover fitting

I just installed a new strator cover on my 04 and noticed that it slightly touched the fairing.

I was wondering if the fairing needs to be trimmed (in general for install of non-stock cover) and if I leave it as is if the cover will end up melting the plastic (or bubble the paint).

Any input on that would be appreciated it.

will not get hot enough to melt but will remove any paint or coating off the stator cover from abrasion..

You can take a barrel sander of some kind (hand or power) or dremel the opening up a bit..

The woodcraft one fit's great... which one did you get??

One of those Yani Shiki covers... Anodized black. Not as fancy as woodcraft but it does look better than stock.
