Aftermarket fuel rails?

So doing a little poking at my fuel system. My welder wants to put a -8an feed and -6an return at the back of the tank and tells me it wont fuel starve as long as it has a gallon + of fuel in it. While I believe he's probably right, it scares me going away from the stock baffle setup that the 99-00 uses. So from what I can see the internal diameter of the factory return is .26" and the internal diameter of the factory feed is .315". If we're talking about AN line sizing this would be a little larger than a -6an feed and somewhere in a happy middle of a -4an and -6an return.

So, as much as I want AN fittings welded onto the tank itself, I think I'm going to hold off for now and run the system using the factory feed and return. I question if the Bosch 044 can actually outrun a -6an feed line anyway. Either way, I HIGHLY doubt I would see fuel pressure drop at 350hp.
