Aftermarket Fuel Pump

I am running a '99 busa motor in my sandrail. I have been using the stock external fuel pump and it is finally fried. I plan on installing an aftermarket Bosch or Pierburg fuel pump with an aeromotive regulator. My first question is in regards to wiring the fuel pump using the 12v wire from the ECM. Is this wire supplied with a constant 12v or does its voltage vary based on data the ECM acquires from its sensors?

I am also believe I need to set the regulator to 43psi before I hook the vacuum line up to it. Is this correct?

Thank You,

Derek

yes n yes. The ECM doesn't vary the voltage to the fuel pump. But you may be better running a seperate circuit just for the pump with a relay. The pumps need a very good power source so don't skimp on the wire gauge either.

Always set you fuel reg without a vacum line to it first. I always run it through the revs to check for any pressure drop too.
