First of all, A big Hello to everyone here. Glad to be on a forum dedicated to the "Bird Of Prey"
I need help with this Busa....
Came across this bike(2006 Hayabusa) recently...Clocked 2000+ miles.
Two brothers slip-on, K&N and HID.
The bike was dropped on the right side(front upper right fairing replaced) and has been repainted, runs smooth, tires are in good condition.
Lemme know your opinions.
Anything in particular i should look into, considering this bike?

I've always been keen on getting a Busa. Please give me your views.

Welcome to the .Org !!!

How much $$ are they asking for ??

The Busa, in my opinion is the best all around bike !!

Welcome to the oRg, you have found your home. Where are you located? Dropped as in just fell over dropped? Or dropped as in slide down the highway on the right side at 60mph dropped? How much?

Great bike~

If it was me, I'd take it to the pros and have 'em check it out thoroughly.

If the price is right, I'd go for it!

Congrats on the find and welcome to the family~

nice looking ride, my main questions have already been asked. If the price is right and it was just plastic damage and the repairs were done right I would go for it.
:welcome:

What's the price on that bugger? As others said, drops can mean driveway/garage tipover or high-speed lowside. Find out which one it was before considering it. If you can get it checked out by someone that knows about the Busa. Let us know how it goes.

If it's an '06 then it's been painted. There were no solid colors for the '06 model. '06 colors were BLK/Cranberry, BLK/Grey, Blue/Grey (fastest) and WHT/Silver (LTD).

Take it to a shop and have them check it out...if it checks out and the price is right...BUY IT

If those Skins are Dark red I would say 07 Skins on an 06 Frame. So your both right

Hmmm does not look like a 06. Also check out the gearing ratio to see if it is recording the miles correct.

Thanks a ton for all your replies.
The bike was dropped as in 'Garage Tipover' well that's what i was told.
The seller did mention that he would open up the entire fairing so that i could be sure there is no damage.

The bike has clocked very less mileage, that way its almost new...expect for the repainting(i'll have to live with it). This is one good thing going for the bike. Second, HID fittment and the Two brothers, donno how good those are for the Busa, please let me know.

One of you mentioned that it ain't a 06 model, please explain this.
What other things from should i look into, phsically and with the Engine?
I would get the bike checked from a experienced Mech for sure.

Waiting for your replies.

I don't know if he'll let you take it on a test ride (most people won't), but make sure it's shifting nice, and smooth from 1'st to 2'nd, and 5'th to 6'th (make sure it doesn't snag, or feel like there's a catch feeling). Busa's have been known to have problems with that, and it seems like 06's got it worse than others, or maybe that's just because that's what I have so I notice it more when I read it ??

It strikes me funny that he had to repaint the whole bike from a "garage" tip over.

The OEM plastics come painted with decals too.

Run a carfax on the V.I.N. & I would suggest you definitaly need to bring it in to a suspension/measuring specialist and make sure that everything is were it's supposed to be.

Here in New England we all use this guy G.M.D. Computrack NorthEast

And they have shops all over the country.

I got hit on my 05 at about 45 m.p.h. and the front end was 10mm out of wack from the incident.

I only rode that girl home from the crash scene and bought an 06 but my friend ended up spending 600 bucks on her to straighten it out and do some suspension upgrades.

Will be getting a ride on Monday morning and will see how the gears engage.
Thanks.

Strikes me funny too...is there something fishy here im thinking, but he said that getting the original was'nt easy hence the total repaint. My fate!!!!

"Run a carfax on the V.I.N." how do i do that, never done this, please advice.
Thanks.
