Peeked out my window and saw this in my front yard just now. Got my camera and eased the door open. God, I love livin' in the country. There are usually 4-6 of 'em but this mornin' Mr. Buck was dining alone on my grass. :super:

Damn, I didn't know you got delivery out there Bro. White Tail right? Very Cool...

Yup, that's premium Georgia Whitetail Deer for ya right thur! Extra sweet lookin' specimen, too.  :super:

It is amazing how beautiful the whitetail deer is, especially the bucks. Light brown coat, white belly, majestic antlers....KILL IT!

brought to you by PETA.

 I thought about it, but that meant spending half a day cleanin' it instead of ridin' the busa. Since I was rained out of ridin' yesterday, I think I'll ride instead. :super:

I have a friend here that has a freezer full of dear. I have been supposed to go and get about half of it and can't seem to remember when I know he is home. There isn't much better on a cold, blustery day than a hot bowl of dear chili. Or maybe a dear steak, or roast, marinaded (sp) chop..... Mmmmmmmm

Nice pic. Looks a bit large for a GA dear though. They only seemed to have large dogs down by Benning/Colombus. He looks young enough to still be tender.

Steve

I met a guy when I was up in Fairbank Alaska who bags a moose every year by opening his backdoor and fires a shot while sitting at his kitchen table.

Yeah, he's on the healthy side of what I usually see around here. He also had the cleanest, shiniest coat I've seen on one. He looked like someone had just finished brushin' his coat out. Can't really tell in the pic, but I counted 6 points on the rack by eye. He never ran off even after I snapped the shot and walked on out onto the porch. He just kept grazin' and walkin' around. Hope he stays around...

In VA, when deer come up to our house, I let the Danes out and watch the interaction between them...

Maggie and Scooby (my dogs) just stand perfectly still, probably thinking "Mommy?  Daddy?" and the deer freeze wondering why in the hell deer wear collars!  :D

Oh...the thought! You know, there are countries that would live off of one of my dogs for weeks! Gross...

Scooby's a killer Dane Rev...he'd eat you before you'd eat him!

I'm kidding...he's the biggest damn baby in the entire world! All 150 lbs of him...

Nah I wouldn't eat your babies, at least not at first.... :D  I love the pics though beautiful dogs...

Personally I am waiting until I get a little more property then I am going to have a couple Mastiffs...

...wonder if they're house dogs like Danes? I imagine they are...hope your house if BIG!!!

Nothing like Danes lounging on your furniture! Mine actually steal your spot if you get up...they'll get up from their spot and sit in yours if you make a run to the frig or something...it's comical...

I think the Mastiffs are pretty good house dogs, but like you said, only so long as you have enough house.  I don't think they would be to good for the hardwood floors though... But I do tend to like real dogs... The little ankle biters just tend to piss me off...Then they start shaking and yap-yapping and I just want to stomp them to put them out of their misery...Though I really like Pugs...My Grandparents always had pugs.  :D

Mastifs are definitely house dogs. According to a local ex-breeder. I used to deliver pizzas to their house. His wife and I would try to block the door, slip in the pizzas, and exchange money over thier heads.

Bullet,
I didn't even notice it untill you mentioned it. He realy does look freshly groomed.

We used to go down to the local amunition manufacturing plant and feed the dear through the fence by hand. This went on for years. They made everyone quit this year. Aparently they were coming inside to pay people a visit. This is also the place where you could almost feed wild turkey by hand. If the fence wasn't there, you could have reached out and touched one. Which most of you know isn't recomended.

Stev
