2nd Gen. Fork Nut Correct Placement

I just replaced the fork seals on my '09 Busa and I think I may have incorrectly placed the internal fork nut. I just referenced another thread and it appears that the nut has to have 11mm of thread showing before tightening the nut. Will I be able to readjust the nut position with the forks installed or will it require removal of the forks to re-adjust?

I've attached 2 photos for reference that show the forks sitting below the triple tree cover.

So does that mean the internal nut can be set to the maximum setting (no threads showing), and then adjustment can be made to the external nut?
