2nd gear dogs question

07 ~20k miles. In second gear under high revs <8k the bike lurches from what I read the dogs maybe bad. Well pulled the trany and found they were cut already, but I think it was a hack job. The dogs have a ledge on them and so does the other mating surface.

Please look at the pictures and let me know what you think. Send them in to get recut? Is this normal?
