$28,000 for 228hp Kawasaki H2 (2019)

I agree Arch!

Probably the best looking Cowasaki I’ve seen in person. The price tag isn’t as outrageous as people make it out to be..... The retail sticker price isn’t more than a Panigale S or a fully loaded S1000rr. I paid more for my Harley so I don’t really see the big deal with ALL that you get with that bike?

What people are missing is yeah you could turbo a Busa and have a faster bike. But add up the cost of a Busa, turbo kit, tuning, ohlins suspenion front and rear, aftermarket rims, etc. and guess what your right there $$$ wise as an H2 if not more. So yeah if I wasn’t mechanilly sound and didn’t have a garage full of tools and a lift then a brand new factory supercharged bike from the dealership 25 mins from my house sounds like the right move. There’s only a few reputable turbo/tuning shops in the country. So if I have to trailer my Busa 6hrs or more to get it worked on/ trouble shooter bye a turbo specialist how is that practical???

A lot of people want the next big shiny thing.... So when you pull up on your 400HP turbo hayabusa the gear/motorheads are gonna freak!!! But to the casual rider or pretty girl your trying to impress all they are gonna see is a 10 year old+ bike. Every bike night I’ve been to if and when someone pulls up on an H2 it draws a crowd

I like the h2 just not the price tag. But then again I haven't even sat on one. I would have to love ridding it to spend that kind of coin. Rather buy a built turbo busa.

To get 230hp out of a busa is just a turbo kit no engine mods like $6k ish? $12k for a new busa $6k turbo kit. Spend $18k and save $10k.
I just dont see the cool factor being a $10k premium for me. It aint $10k cooler.

Wow Red . . .

Annnnnnd a warranty. And resale. And, depending on who built it, reliability. And financing (not including using cc, which is the work of the devil). There are plenty of reasons why people buy a bike like that vs a built something else. I do agree that if done right you can make a much better bike for the same or less, but many dont want to do it for reasons listed above. Price, meh that is relative for everyone. In fact, maybe Kawasaki over inflates their price to keep the young squids off for liability reasons...its been done before. Less than a year after the H2 came out I almost bought one new for 20 even...like 5 off. Haven't looked since then but I would bet it is still like that at some dealers.

To me the H2 looks like no other bike, which in my mind is pretty cool. But I just wonder what the demographic they were aiming at with it, most seem to love it or hate it. Sort of like the Busa I suppose. The H2 sort of has that unfinished mechanical look from a Batman cave thing going. Pretty dam aggressive by a mass production manufacturer. Of course to Kawasaki Heavy Industries the bike department is literally a fun exercise. Suzuki not so much. Seems Suzuki is looking to make it's money in cars (and car parts actually) and small displacement bikes for 3rd world markets.

Yep, this^
Kawasaki could kill production on it's bikes and powersports today, and the company survive just fine.
I agree that allows them to take alot more risk than Suzuki, who hasn't even sold new cars in the U.S in what, 5 years, and is a much, much smaller company.
I like Kawasaki, always have. And love em or hate em, the inovation they bring to the table is doing great things for sportbikes in general.

I have a friend that bought a brand new h2. He loves it. But started modding it. He did the guhl flas and after that it didn't run right. He finally got that fixed and now he did and did swing arm on it. Took 3 months for that to be put on and made safe. He doesn't know how to work on stuff so he has and did dealership do it. But they don't know anything about aftermarket stuff. A couple months ago and got in trouble. So now he wants to sell it. Price? 17k. Resale on them suck. Pay 24k for it mod it and lose a lot of money. The swing arm was at less 2k. Plus you have a loan on it so your losing even more money.

Sorry but your #’s on a turbo Busa are a bit light.... Anybody that I’ve ever seen or read that has a Quality Turbo setup has 20+G’s into it easily. Now if your talking about just a basic stage 1 kit assembled in your garage with no motorwork and tuned bye joe some then sure bye all means yeah it’s cheaper but for how long till you melt down?

But let’s say for the sake of argument that you get a decent bike for $18k......

Look what I can buy for the same $$$

Ohlins suspension & dampener , traction control, quick shifter, TFT dash, LED lighting, multiple rider modes, and so on and so on..........

Sorry I’ve never been a Cow fan but even I see things for what they are.

once u flash that ecu… bye bye warranty... raising the redline gets the nice numbers outta these bikes... but its not a question of how much(hp)…… but how long

Boostedh2 blew his bike up. It lasted about 2 summers it think. But it wasnt turned up all the way the whole time. I think it had exhaust filter and flash. Then he did supercharger gears then intercooler. Then he might of changed the gears again. I would think a bolt on's it should be good for a long time. As longs as you don't go wot for long distances. No intercooler on them so it would be a matter of time before it goes boom

That's what really gets me about Suzuki. If they had put even basic rider aids on the busa, even just bolted on the 1K stuff, this would all be a different story. Even if you add a turbo to a Gen 2 you won't have TC, cruise, etc. So like you were saying you have a really fast old bike.

What’s the HP to the tire? Bike is cool they are really nailing the technology with controlling things through your phone. And I didn’t see a price on this article. Might be more than 28.

It is amazing how Kawasaki keeps making update after update. And Suzuki takes 10 years.
Ah, how long did the Suzuki Hayabusa Reign over Kawasaki?

if there are people braindead enough to buy a Harley...h2s will sell... a lot of people have 45-70 grand that they spend on their cars... me personally... a bike is secondary and a toy.
