With Newt taking South Carolina and looking strong for Florida what do y'all think?
Romney won't do well here. I don't think? Having won SC Florida may look to their lead and follow suit.
So if Newt wins Fl Romney may be in trouble. I can see Newt getting the nomination. Only one thing may prevent it and that is the Bushes. They still feel burnt and that Newt cost sr reelection. Behind closed door power may come into play and Newt may find himself without strong backing. This is getting good.

It's getting good to watch but its getting kind of scary for those of us that want the current administration out of office. As long as he is gone I'll take any of the republicans.

I say...go with Mr. Keebler. He might stimulate the economy by sending out bags of free cookies, lol.
Even better, get Rick Perry to jump back in...we want him out of Texas, lol.

Pretty sure the Repub Establishment won't let Newt get the nomination. He just has waaaaaaay too much Bad History, and they know Newt can't possibly beat the socialist Kenyan in the White House.

As distasteful as he is in so many, many ways, Mittens will be their nominee. He's liable to be paired with some religious nutbag for VP, this in order to appease the Repub christian taliban, who are still bent outta shape that their candidates (Frothy/Buchanan/Perry) were never really relevant, except in their own minds.

Now, what could be a serious wrench in the works is if it is disclosed that Mittens has been hiding his massive millions of $$$ in the Cayman Islands like so many of the 1% Elite in this country do. And yes, while it may be entirely legal... it's going to look bad to the average struggling middle/lower income voters.... :dunno:

Still a loooooooong way to go....... not that it matters all that much except for the entertainment value, as the Repubs just won't promote a viable candidate. Mittens will get the GOP nomination, and they will simple have their asses handed to them in the general election.

Says a lot about Obama when people would STILL, IN SPITE of the Republican candidate, still vote for "anybody but O". But, you may (I sure hope not) be correct in your assessment. He won't get elected because he's the most popular, he will get reelected because the Republicans didn't field good enough a candidate...

Look at y'all!!!! Already conceding defeat!

Keith please mail me the dollar you're going to owe me :)

I think in big bold letter it's coming.

Obama got Osama

Isn't it weird how it turned out that a guy who's name is within one letter of obl got him?

I haven't conceeded squat yet, Saiid. There are a lot of people to include those that voted for him last time, that would vote (or most likely, not show up) for Arnold the Pig instead of Obama.

President Ziffel

I'd vote for him.

Getting warmer in FL! Herman Cain has just endorsed Gingrich and will be campaigning with him on Monday. Looks like Palin has also kinda endorsed Gingrich first before the SC primary then now by defending him against establishment and inside the beltway attack. But still no definite thumbsup from her but its clear who she's with. Inside the beltway establishment is fighting hard for Romney but I don't think he has a strong connection with the people yet.

The difference between the two as I see it is Newt comes across as fighting for the heart and soul of America. He's articulating conservatism well and giving voice to the peoples frustrations. Is it genuine? It sure seems so. Newt has had a long career in politics and he is smart and masterful at it. I hope he's for real. Romney on the other hand comes accross as fighting for himself to get elected. Just another plaque to add to his golden shelf of achievements in life. He's got all the former losers like Dole and McCain endorsing him and telling us he is the best candidate to win.

I'm with Newt

I really, really, REALLY don't see n00t getting the repub nomination.... the GOP Beltway Establishment will fight that tooth and nail.

That having been said, there are still many, many months to go... who knows what October Surprise the Newtster might pull off... anything can happen.

How about this for a wrench in the works: we all know Ron Paul has a rather noteworthy, sizable amount of Repub voters in his camp.... even though he prolly would not go for it, what if n00t asked Ron Paul to be his VP? Together, they would possibly have enough convention votes between the two of them to force the issue and secure the GOP nomination.

Of course, this n00t/Paul ticket would get stomped in the general election against the Kenyan socialist, but it would send a message to the GOP Establishment that they can not pick the GOP nominee; the grass roots people do that.

Still don't think any of the above will occur. But as I said, we still have many months to go, and anything can happen.

Romney has been campaigning in Florida for four years, if he doesn't win there I think he is all but done!

Personally, I think Newt is head and shoulders above his competition. Since I live in Washington State, my vote will have no effect on the outcome since the nominee will have already been selected by the time I vote.

I like Newt when he is ON his game.... when he is, he is fantastic to listen to, when he's not... it can be ugly. Problem is, you don't know which Newt you're gonna get on any given day.

While I'm not a big fan of Romney, he is the most consistent of the two, and has been the most consistently up in the polls. (prior to SC) I'll most definitely vote for him if he gets the nomination. I'm also quite sure I'm not alone in that.

Romney can, and will beat Nobama.

Romney will take Florida.

He is actually - literally - "buying" the Florida voter.

ABC News Tonight did a piece on the spending in Florida on some BRUTAL negative advertisements - from both sides - that each campaign is spending.

N00t: $3.8 Million

Mittens: $13.8 Million :omg:

Daaaaayamn! And the negative ads have been working... Mittens has now risen to 42%, n00t has fallen to 27%

And to be fair, it's not so much Romney that is doing this, as it is the Republican Establishment that is "buying" the Florida vote. Romney is just their puppet.

With the Repub Establishment outspending N00t in negative ads to a tune of 3.6:1, shyeah, I'd say N00t is not going to take FL.

This whole "Citizen's United" ruling by the Supreme Court has truly helped poisoned the political process.... waaaaay too much unaccounted $$$ spending on negative ads that the sheeple just eat up like reality TV.... :banghead:
