2001 front axle nut

I would appreciate some assistance with my 2001 Busa.

I'm trying to get my front axle nut off but the dealer that supplied me with my last set of rubber rounded off the nut. I want to replace the nut and was wondering if the post-2001 hex key style nut will work on my 2001?

If the hex key style won't work, does anyone know the correct socket size for the stock axle nut? I tried a 27mm wrench and it was a bit too large. I have a 26mm socket that won't fit on but that could be due to the damage to the nut.

I haven't been successful in getting this info from Suzuki or any local Suzuki dealers.

Can someone assist me?

Hi

I just try ed a 1 1/16 socked on mine and it fit good.

If it is rounded of then try a pip wrench on it or a large vice grip.

Don't forget to loosen the 2 allen screw's on the right fork.
The 2 on the left holds the spacer nut.

Good lock Gurrera

last I knew, every busa from '99 - '07 had the same front axle. mine is a 24 mm. i bought a socket from Snap-On designed specifically for Suzuki front axle hex's. Pt # HXD24

Get a new one before you pipe wrench the old one off. Make sure to loosen the pinch bolts before taking the nut off. Wardie

I used a homemade rig. I thought that was one piece, not really a nut, but the end of the front axle. :dunno:
