18T 39T sprockets

I will be doing a lot of touring this year, Atlanta to New York ect. Just wanted to know if anyone has had success with the 18 / 39 sprocket setup. Looking for lower rpm @ highway speed and maybe a few more mpg. THanks

i've been using the 18/40 for several years and don't have any complaints...it's a great set-up as long as you are doing anything except drag racing from a dead stop

i know there are several more around here using the same gearing such as Busawhipped and DR1300R

What brand front sprocket are you using ?

Sous has 18/39 on his gen2, and has a long commute.
He can give you realistic mpg.

don't know for sure...it's a steel one and i think i ordered it from pashnit

18/39 is what I plan on going to when mine wear out.

Remember if you are on a Gen-II you will have to shorten the chain, Gen-I and you are fine...
