I bought a set of 16/42 Vortex sprockets. i need to know if i need to buy a longer chain..any help???

No, they will fit a stock length chain (112 links)

how many miles on the chain on the bike,if worn badly those sprockets won't last you long,they over time wear a pattern into each other that your new sprockets won't have...

the only thing I needed shortly after was a new back tire
