+12 stretch what tail to use

GenI would be a 10 over. Iv been told to go 2in less than the stretch. Meaning on the MULET at 10 over....an extended 8 tail, but I think an extended 6 would look better to me. The GenII down ward swoop tail....it may all be diff?
