10-Year Anniversary Freshen-up

What do you think about painting the turn signal housings? Obviously I did not spend much time on the below pic but you get the idea. I think it is too late and you already got the paint work done.

actually the mirrors are still undecided. I was thinking bar ends and block offs on the OEM locations. I have looked at blue or just leave them black. I like the GSXR 1k mirrors best if I'm going to have mirrors.

Hi. I have a 1999 with a Gen 2 with a 12 over carbon fiber tail I am painting it with paint that changes from purple to blue. I will paint the side pods with a purple of my own mix and high lights of my own formula. I do not care if anyone likes it I do. fallenarch I like what you have done to your bike because it pleases you!

Today's bounty: Clear Stomp grip, PitBull wheel chock and Zero Gravity double bubble in light smoke.

Trying to do a test fit on everything. The front end stuff is all finger tight, but I can remove one bolt at a time for thread lock and torqueing up. Front brakes are all installed and RCS is in place and wired up.

The SATO rear sets were quite the puzzle but got everything in place and will remove it and reinstall with thread lock. I'm going to have to replace all of the bolts on the rear sets with Titanium because the ones SATO sends are just not up to the quality of these things. The feel ok but are higher than the Vortex even in the lowest position. These are clearly made for racing, but the feel and accuracy of the controls makes the Vortex feel like tractor parts. And the SATOs are pure parts porn.....

My work plan quickly got off. The plan assumed I would have everything when I started assembly. This is probably better anyway since details matter and I'm forced to take my time.

Those rearsets are gorgeous! I’ve been thinking about getting some, due to the OEM shifter having too much play, but haven’t pulled the plug

No play on these! Very smooth, with highly refined feel. Can't wait to try them with the QS. They are however a bit on the racy side. My size 13 boot will hang over the end of the peg.

I think u should do an in depth analysis of the BMW u got..... and the busa…. lol... compare them....… I love messin with u arch.
The BMW is trying to be what it's not, which is a comfortable Hayabusa. It has amazing build quality but it's complexity and incredible design/manufacturing oversights stop it from being what a touring bike must fundamentally be - stable, easy to ride and reliable. The Hayabusa is simple, amazingly flexible and basically a legend. The Hayabusa is to motorcycles what Ali was to boxing......

The best heavyweight ever.

Today was a great addition for a guy who is paranoid his brakes are going to dump him in the road! Nice CNC aluminum brake guard. I know that my own, untalented braking hand is more likely to dump me than a tree limb or another rider, but hey. Anyway as far as brakes all I have to manage now is ignorance, and I've been doing that for 57 years - I got this.....

Nice! They don't hit the windshield or fairing?
