09 gsxr 750 taillight question brake light

My bro-in-law has a 2009 gsxr 750 his tail light works but the brake light wont work. He dont live around here so i can't look at it. Any suggestions what could be wrong? thanks

First check the bulb-then see if it works with either the front or rear brake.

anything more than a bulb or fuse, is it still in wty ?

also check the wires that go to the brake switch, one on the front master cyclender and one tucked up on the rear
