You don,t have to raise the tank, just take a long screwdriver and put it on the edge of of the idle adj. screw and you can bump it up or down.

I to have the rs3 slip on,s but I did not re-map, have no poping and cracking, maybe u should go back to the stock map? just mt .02 cents worth.

ok, i'll give it a shot - can anyone tell me where to look for the ile adj screw?

A servcie guy adjusted my idle too...I didn't see exactly where it was, but he pulled the brake side fairing apart at the top and seemed to have easy access with a long screw driver to the screw...

...should be in the service manual as well...I'm not at home to look it up right now...

Good luck...hope adjusting that fixes it...I had similar problems, and so far, knock on wood, it's fixed...
