'01 Engine Number

Hi all, & greetings from a very damp UK.
Ok, so the rain may be making me go blind, but I need to register my Busa with Datatag (ooops, 3 years late!) that is already fitted and they require the engine number. S, I had a quick look. Couldn't see it.
So then I did a search on google and about all I can find is 'It's on the back of the engine casing'.
So, I took half the bike apart looking for it, and well, I can't see the damn thing!!
Can anyone give some slightly more detailed instructions (or a picture!) of where I should be looking?

Should be able to see it just above the swingarm mount at the frame. It may be dirty and need to be wiped off with some degreaser. It is on the engine case though.

It should be at the back of the crankcase. Look in the back from where the shock is.

Nice one, thanks guys, I shall break out the bag of old rag socks and some degreaser and see what I can find!
