'00 pc question

I have a stock (except for K&N air filter) '00. I think that the low running is not at all right -it feels like the bike is way too abrupt and choppy at small throttle openings so it is hard to be smooth. I've been reading the posts and I'm getting the picture that the PC is the fix, but I'm not sure what's the best version for a stock bike which is not likely to be modded at all, and what sort of price is reasonable for a used one if available (hint).

I believe on an 00 it would be the PC II or the usb Go to power commander and they will have a table showing which one you need
