Gen1 K2 with 2000 fairing

Have a gen1 that I bought in parts for next to nothing. Even the engine was fully taken apart. Story was a hard noise under load so crank&rod are bad. So I puzzled it all together, still found a cracked head, broken thermostat, and many small things that showed years of neglect. What I added/fixed:

• Fixed the engine: new crank/rods, new head, lapped the valves with new seals, new seals and gaskets all around.
• People with in depth knowledge of hayabusa's will say this is not a K2, the color scheme is from the 2000 bike! You are right. I exchanged the broken fairing and dented tank for a very nice set from 2000. Gutted the tank to keep the in tank fuel pump :-)
• Coated the exhaust pipes, added a nice set of Bos silencers
• Added tre, gear indicator and garmin GPS holder
• Replaced all kind of bolts that originated from the hardware store, added missing fairing bolts and grommets
• Checked EVERYTHING. Took the complete bike apart. I found so much poop I didnt trust it anymore. Fortunately no more nasty surprises such as cracks in frame or stuff like that.

Really enjoying this bike! Always liked the looks and people react positive to it! impressive low down power out of the corner, more power when going up the rev range and it handles really well fur such a large and heavy bike. King of the traffic light sprints: very easy to do a hard launch, Used to drive liter bikes but this is not much slower and way more comfortable.
