Since Rossi has allready won the championship, he doesn't count. Leave him out since we're talking about 2nd and 3rd in the championship.

Capirossi is out due to a crash for the rest of the weekend and likely he's out of championship race also.

Checa, Gibernau, and HAYDEN(ya boy!!) are the 3 fastest times for day1 practice.

Roberts crashed out in practice also - I would like to see Hayden take it, and Edwards place well.

Nicky Hayden became the fastest rider ever to complete a lap of the legendary Phillip Island circuit as he obliterated the pole position record in today’s single qualifying practice for the Polini Australian Grand Prix. The American set a time of 1’29.337 despite being held up by a slower rider just two corners from the end, his effort beating Valentino Rossi’s previous record here by 0.731 seconds and holding off the Italian’s own challenge by a single tenth.

Here's the times from todays final practice. Its going to be a hell of a race. Edwards is still a little slow...

Sweet!!

Nicky took 2nd, but more importantly he scored more points than any other rider who's in the running for 2nd in the championship.

Close race at the end between Rossi and Nicky!!
