My seats (from Tobin, who else!?)

Ok I got these over the winter but since my bike was in storage I didn't put them on until I brought it out 3 or 4 weeks ago. Then I took pics and it took forever to finish the role and get them developed (yup, I'm still in the stone age camera wise...spend too much money on mods to buy a digital.)

Anyways the seats look awesome! I absolutely love the way they look. Everywhere I go I get compliments on them. Plus you sit a little lower in the saddle (great for us short guys.)

However the way everyone talked I was thinking I would sit REALLY lower. This is not the case. I only sit a little lower...and the amount of foot I can put on the ground did not seem to change at all. (Still just the balls of my feet.)

In fact the only downside to the seat is that it is flat instead of rounded. The stock seat was higher, but rounded (higher in the middle than on the sides.) This seat is flat, so you can actually feel the sides of the seat dig into your leg. My brother got on and without me saying anything said the same thing "It feels funny, it digs into the sides of your legs." (His exact words). However I'll take that "digging in" feeling for the extra few millimeters that was cut out of ride height.

Also the little pad in the back that he cuts to your waist is super fricken cool. It makes riding so much more comfy as you feel supported in the seat. I like that.

As for the rear....I haven't had anybody sit on it yet, so I can't comment there. But it sure looks good!

So...the seats look good, the color matched perfectly, it was a great price, fast shipping, great customer service.....great all around! I just wish I could have had Tobin cut even more out of the seat...but I'm guessing he cuts it as low as it can go...so a big thumbs up and thank you goes out to Tobin for these seats!

Oh yeah....know how it took a few 100 miles to break in the stock seat....and how a corbin seat takes a few 1000 miles to break in....well this seat was perfect from the first time my cheeks hit it! No break in time! Perfectly comfy from mile 1. I don't know how, but I'm not complaining.

Now for the pics......

And here is my list of mods for next winter:

(They may change, but as of now, this is what I have planned)

Xenonking.com 6000K HID low beam conversion
Xenonking.com 10000K HID high beam conversion
Speedhut.com 220mph Reverse El-glo dials
Bluegauges.com Red LCD's all over the gauge face
Speedohealer V2
Scorpio SR-i500 Alarm w/ all the goodies
Escort 8500 Radar detector hardwired w/plexiglass enclosure
Radarbusters.com HARD module
Paint the windscreen red (I don't like any aftermarket screens)

So, next spring I'll have a lot of new pics to share!

Until then I'll be living vicariously through you guys who mod all year round!

Man those look good. I really got to get him to do mine. Might have to contact him and have him do them when I'm on vacation.
