Power Commander 5 dead

I've seen a few die, and heard of several more over the years, it happens.
It's age, and where you bought it will effect if and what Dynojet may do about it.

Has anyone else had a power Commander die and how do you get Dynojet to stand behind it.

You call their 800 number: (800)992-4993, let them know you are having an issue. Have the serial number handy - it's on the back of the unit. They will issue a return authorization, and once they receive it, they will either fix it, or replace it under the warranty. They are usually very flexible. Make sure you let them know how much you love their products and how many bikes you got, etc. Play it up and get it done.

I bought a used PC3 for my '99 Busa from a guy in the States on Ebay.
I have no idea how old it is, anyone know what the average life expantancy of these units would be? I mean, the PC3 I bought must be at least 10 years old, mine's still working ok, I have it foam insulated and cable tied to the rear subframe, would be easier on it (vibration) to be mounted on the rear mudguard tray under the rear seat?
I would appreciate any advice on this, thanks.
