Casper to Indy and Back.

last time i checked in i was in Wisconsin. Well Brothers and Sisters, Friends and Family, we have hit 3 States sense my last post. :cheerleader:
i totally fell asleep posting pics last post.

oh my goodness.
ok, i was in Mee-lee-walk-kay, with the Laverne and Shirley theme song going through my head.

After a slim nights sleep (in a motel that i could not smoke in! :banghead:) Jon finally coaxed me out of bed with a cup of coffie.
got around and called Fez/ Wilson/ Hayabusa4life. (Awesome Guy, by the way!) and we went down to the Mother Company Museum.
Now i don't know how many pics you wanna see of Harleys, but some of these were AWESOME!
i have studied harley history and it was really neat to see some of these bikes in person.

i could and just may later, do a report on just the harley Museum.

There were old early 1900's bikes. my favorite paint on a bike, the 1933! Military sidecar rigs. a display of every engine they have ever made.
more NOVA stuff than i ever thought existed. that thing is a V65! in 1976ish, a V65! they really messed up there not pursuing that! Jon giggled.

there was a wall full of tanks. and my tank was up there. groovy! the Sturgis was a special year. thats groovy. they even had a complete bike, my Buddy's brother sitting there. (i didn't see what # it was!:banghead:)
the cooliest part was at the end where they had a bunch of bikes to sit on!
my favorite was the 1977 XLCR cafe racer. i wouldn't mind building one of those.

After the Musem, we went and grabbed a bite downtown at the best fish joint in town. the tacos were pretty darn good!

we met up with Lurch and went out to Bot's house where we spent a few hours in his driveway chatting it up. wth Bots, no beer fridge in the man cave? :poke:"i have water" ??? don't worry, after a few months as a new daddy, you will know why there is always beer in the shop.

we spent too long chatting it up and eating and drinking at Bots fav local bar, and it was a cold ride back to Lurch's. im glad i didn't loose Wilson or we woulda been bummed. i forgot to program Lurch's address into my GPS.

Wilson/Fez/Hayabusa4life, had to go home.
so we hung in Lurch's Garage smoking and planning mods on Bessie.
Lurch hooked me up with a product he has been working on. a usb power port strong enough to power an i-pad and Waterproof to boot!
when i asked what i owed him, we worked out a deal for Smoked Brisket and Ribs when he visits. what a guy! that was very cool of him!

What was even nicer was the bed, the booze and the morning Coffie we were treated to.

We got an early start about 11am. We zipped along and in no time we were in stop and go traffic in Chicago.
I tell you what, the traffic in Chicago sucks! Bad ! Very Bad! I will never go back if I can keep from it.
Jon and I began to overheat and Jon began to smoke his clutch.
We were very happy to get on the skyway and get back up to speed.

We rode late into the night. Stopping every 70-80mi for Jon to get gas and me to relax and rest my groin.
I got into Dayton around 3am.
My Brother Eddie was happy to see me and set me up with a comfortable couch for the night.
I slept, omg I slept. I slept til 1 in the afternoon.
When I awoke, Eddie and I went out to pick up kids from school. I got to meet my brother Kenny’s kids and got to see all of Eddies kidos too. Aiden had gotten way big. It’s amazing how quick they grow.
I didn’t get to see Chris’s kids. Maybe if I can get back over there before I leave I will get to see the boys and Peanut.

Jon has ridden on to his sisters 150mi east of Dayton. He will rejoin me tomorrow.

I rode back to Indy and made it just in time for my meeting.
That is where I sit now.

Here are some more pics,... at the Harley Museum,... riding around Milwaukee... and some on the bar.
Something I learn about Russ is that he gets very exited while he talks, then he gets so deep into his stories that he starts knocking down stuff while he uses his arms as body language  He almost knock down my bike's mirror while we were on Steve's driveway, and he did ended up knocking down some kind of frame on the bar(see pics)
Russ and Jon are very cool guys, I had a great time!

reporting Live, from Montrose Illinois.

convention was great... more on that later.

we are currently headed to St Louis to check out the arch.
we'll check back with yall later.

we are safe in St. Charles Missouri.

but let me digress.

the NCOM Convention was very informative and productive.
Seven stepped down from the NSBA and Lady Ninja has stepped up to run things there.
i am going to be working with ABATE of Florida, NCOM, and the NSBA to put on a Sport Bike rodeo next year.
i need your imput on this. what would you like to see in a Sport Bike rodeo?
i want to have it at a race track.
my suggestion was if they want Sport Bikers to go, Go to where the Sport Bikers are.

while at in Indy Jon asked if we could go to St Elmo's. ??? "Sure, what is it?" i asked. "The best steak house you will EVER go to!" He replied. :beerchug:
 he was right! OMG it was good! i had the 34oz. Prime and Jon had 28oz Porterhouse.
the wine list prices, like the bottles, were huge!

it made the banquet steak taste like crap! i didn't even eat it. i went back to the room and had some more prime rib!

we learned alot, and got way to little sleep. (Jon is now snoring loudly in his bed next to me.)

we got a late start a little after noon today. the bed just felt too good. i don't think i got to sleep until 6 this morning.
We stopped at the Arch in St. Louis. We were too late to ride up it. it had just closed. i have been up it, but Jon never has. i bet he would have liked it.
good reason to return.

we took bad advice from my GPS and ended up in the getto looking for a BBQ place. the place she took us to was a seedy take out joint in the hood. so we made a u-turn and got back on I-70 west at a high rate of speed.
as we were turning around at the BBQ place a pack of bikes cane screaming down the street Police in hot pursuit. Jon got to see how blockers can work police cars, letting their friends escape.
We took that as a sign we should get the heck outa Dodge!
We needed gas and zipped into a station by the highway. didn't even take off the helmets. swipe, gas, go!!!

Down the road we went. still hungry and havin to pee. Jon spied a Hooters. :cheerleader:
from the Hooters we grabbed the closest motel we could find.
They were actually cheeper than they quoted me on the phone. :dunno:

Today we did about 300mi. and didn't kill ourselves doing it. :beerchug:
Tomorrow we head to Kansas to visit Jon's Mom. a little over 400mi (i think :rolleyes2: )

until next post, Happy Dreams Brothers and Sisters!

What an awesome account of your adventures!! So cool!! I think most here are pretty jealous, or is that just me?

Thanks sooooo much for sharing!! Looking forward to more

im safe some where in kansas at an aunts home.
drunk and happy. tired.
report tomorrow.
Happy Dreams brothers and sisters.

We awoke in St. Charles to a sunny, warm, beautiful day.
we got packed up and out of the room by checkout (noon):laugh:
we hit the road and rode down it a few hundred yards, before we pulled into a bike shop we had seen the night before.
Jon wanted to pick up a flip up helmet. after seeing me with my Scorpion, he saw how convenient a flip up can be.
he picked up a cheep flip up for $100.
he also noticed the new Z14 in blue.
don't worry, i showed him what he should really be riding. :rulez:
i thought the cowboy add was silly. real cowboys use a post driver, not a steering column.

with a new helmet on his head we grabbed some gas and a Gatorade and boogied down the road.

We stopped for lunch at Betty's place. just a little pitstop in the middle of nowhere Missouri. she had a neat buffalo carving out front. i dig that kinda stuff.

Next stop, Kansas City and some Arthur Bryant's BBQ! :cheerleader:

the cops musta heard we were cummin because as soon as we parked they started rollin in.
acually there was a fire at a shipping company up the road.
i had forgotten to call MoBusa before we got close to town. we were unable to meet up. bummer. maybe next time. :beerchug:

We survived the spegetti mousetrap of Kansas city highway system and rode on into Kansas.
at the border it got chilly.

We had stopped by an Adult store earlier that day, so when i saw a gas station called "Handy's" i giggled. we pulled in for gas and to suit up, as it was getting pretty cold out.

We made it into Jon's mom's place late. they cooked us t-bones and put out a full spread. we ate and drank and talked til about 3am.

i got up after about 10hrs sleep. we spent the day just resting and watching the history and military channel .
after a week and a half + on the road, we needed a day of rest.
We ate well again this evening and have plans to hit the road earlyish tomorrow. :beerchug:

i think i will go shower up and grab a piece of cake and cup of coffie before bed.
:beerchug: Happy Dreams Yall!
