Hey guys and gals. We got back yesterday about noon. Man what a long flight. It took 6 hrs from Maui to LA 2.5 lay over 4.5 hrs to Atlanta 2.5 lay over and then 1 hr back to Roanoke VA then an hour drive home. We left Maui at Friday at 1 PM and arrived in Roanoke Sat at 11 AM. Maui is one of the most beautiful places I have ever seen. I have a few pics I will share with all. This is what we woke up to every morning.

Very cool. Where in VA do you live? I was born about 30 mins from Roanoke in tiny Clifton Forge.

I know a lot of the people here have been to the dragon and from what I have seen it is one nice ride. I have to tell you it cannot compare to the road to Hana in Maui. This road is 56 miles of hair pin curves and switch backs so sharp that 15 MPH is as safe as you can take it in a car. The scenery is unbelievable but the driver really cannot enjoy it for watching the road. It takes about 14 hrs to really go and see it all. We ran out of daylight and stopped about 15 miles from the end and have to turn around and come back. Here are a few more pics from that part

As you can see the waves were pretty nice. It seems that Mongoose are native to this Island. We ran across a family of them. I would have never thought they would be on this Island. Some more below

Beautiful islands. Lived in honolulu for 2 yrs and was fortunate to visit Maui and the big island. Also did you know there are NO snakes in Hawaii. Thanks for the share.

I live in Lynchburg VA. Its 60 miles east of Roanoke. We had heard about the snake thing but was not sure if it was true or not. I did see a lot of wild chickens. We were told that they were blew in from the big Island in storm. We never did really see much wild life at all. We found a cave that was cut into the rocks. It was pretty cool. Here are some more pics.

This lovely lady was dancing at out hotel every night. She would take the time to teach the kids and really looked like she enjoyed doing it. It was very relaxing to watch.

We booked a sunset cruise and got lucky to get up graded to the dinner cruise at no charge. I had the Prime Rib and my wife had the Maiwi Maiwi fish. Here are a few pics from the boat.

Last day. We took a ride to the North side of the Island to a place called the needle and the Creator. It was a long ride that ended up being 10,023 feet above see level. We were above the clouds and it was awesome. Enjoy
