Has this transmission been undercut
and the shift fork look like it got hot
or is that what it look like after they
temper them

the transmission has been undercut (it doesnt look like an aggressive undercut) and the shift forks are made of bronze, that is their natural color after manufacturing.
While you have it open, i would recommend a pair of APE tool steal shift shafts (the round shafts that the gear selectors slide on) if you don't already have them.. i couldn't tell in the pics..
