Wondering where on earth this road is? How about a view of the earth to help out.

The Western Divide Hwy.

Here it drops out the Sierra Nevada practically straight down.
Imagine riding tight switchback corners for some 10 miles.

Here's a screenshot from some hi-def video shot in slow-motion. A handy feature of the GoPro HD video camera... it will shoot 60 frames per second. So we did several slo-mo passes & we'll have to wait to see how it turns out.

Day 3 begins with an early start to beat the traffic into Sequoia National Park.

It works great and we encounter few other traffic for the entire hour of twisty road-riding it takes to get to the top of the mountain.

Now pause for a moment, look into the photo and get a sense of scale.

The climb up Morro Rock to 6700 ft. Yes, that's the road we just came up.

We are standing on top of the shadow.

Can see clear across the entire state. On a clear day that is. ;)

More rigging in order to get the shot.

This is a really cool angle btw on film.

Mary & Marco in the bottom of Kings Canyon. We just decended 5000 ft of twisty road.

It's a dead end so we have to ride back up 5000 feet of twisty road. Someone's got to do it. :)

No pics on that leg, but this might give you an idea of what the ride into Kings Canyon is like...

Day 4 dawns with an early morning ride to Glacier Point.

Half dome from its bottom there at middle of the pic to the top is 5000 feet. That's a mile folks.

Dsc02039_half_dome.jpg

El Capitan - that's 3000 feet straight up right there.

Yosemite it so big, it's the size of Rhode Island. Most of it is wilderness. Although trails everywhere.

Yes, we're having as much fun as it looks. Good times.

No, it's not a shot of a barrel.

That's the ceiling. Every stencil was hand painted. Every stained glass window was also hand-made.

The Grand Dining Hall. Perfect finish to our Grand Tour.

Cannot wait to see the video.

Smarting that my ex cancelled my flight to San Francisco as I was coming over in February with a week to play with... this would have been perfect.
