This past weekend I was able to attend on af Asia's largest motorcycle shows. It was held in a mall that was 7 levels tall! Easily the largest mall I have ever been in. The show itself occupied the 1st two levels.
All the major brands had a display there EXCEPT for......you guessed it...Suzuki! Quite amazing when I think about it, because they have a very large following here in Thailand, especially in their motorbike/scooter dept. So no...I didn't get to see any 2010 Busa models :banghead: , but there was a nice custom there that I took a lot of pics of.

Cheers,

Brian

Very nice.
You know in Cyprus where my dad lives there are alot of those KTMs running around.
Nothing stellar I'm sure but they dont get enough stateside attn I think.
Up close looking at them they are quality made bikes..

Suzuki doesn't have any 2010 Busas, correct? Or is that just none for the U.S.?

I went to the DC show and they only had 2009 models and not very many on display at all...

I like that KTM! Very cool! Thanks for sharing pics

They're really pushing motorcycles in BKK now. They had a special about Thai celebs riding Hayabusas recently. Before, riding motorcycles in Thailand was (and to some degree still is) considered low society (Lo-So). Now its becoming more acceptable even though the roads in and around Bkk are in poor condition. Its also very dangerous to ride them there!

I was unaware that Suzuki even offered a full Titanium exhaust. This was on a 2009 GSXR1000

Yeah, its a bad azz looking bike in person too. Skip Barber usues it exclusively for their students to learn on at his racing schools. Superbike Ride So it can't be all that bad

Godspeed to you Bro,

I got to know Thailand VERY well over the past year due the many business trips. Do you know which mall the show was held at?
There are several high-rise malls over there, they don't mess around when it comes to their shopping centers.

BTW...in case anyone cares, 2-stroke scooters and 125cc 4-stroke motorcycles are the norm over there. Traffic is so bad there, the brave and crazy (and there are alot of them), zip through traffic in Bangkok. It's almost a requirement to do so if you need to get somewhere fast in Bangkok.
I give alot of respect to those who weave their way through traffic in their little machines. It's a zoo over there.

From what I understand from talking with the local Thai people I work with, big motorcycles are highly desirable with everyone, but due to the crazy taxes (30-40% for items not made in Thailand), they pay almost double what we would pay for something like a Hayabusa. So needless to say, it is reserved for the rich.

thanks for sharing Brian, we have an exhibition at the end of this month I'll post some pics also
By the way Im not trying to be smart A-S-S but that titanium exhaust is the oem exhaust for the 2005-2006 gsxr1000, and the bike in the pic is a 2006 :poke::beerchug:
