Reasons to own a dodge neon

laugh: so My Daughter (sort of) has her permit and is getting ready to drive. Fortunately her great grandmother who is no longer allowed to drive gave her a car. Mind you if you know anything about older dodge cars and trucks then you know paint adhesion was not a primary factor in the design. This is what I was doing last weekend. With a razor blade mind you. This weekend we'll be doing some minor bodywork, finish stripping the paint that actually stuck and getting it ready to jamb (because apparently white is not a cool color) but she's a good kid and she tries her best, can't afford to give her a nicer first car but I do have a skill that lets me work with what I got in my off time. So We are painting this one at least the stripping was easy.

with the amount of work that's going into this thing you better believe I'm posting pics after probably about a month job because I'm doing it on saturdays only at my old place of employment (the owner lets me do that god bless him). That and I need proof somewhere that it looked nice before she hits something . Color is gonna be blue she's not into pink either a honda civic si blue or possibly a newer toyota tacoma blue. Stickin with factory colors they are cheaper to shoot and easier to match if (when) something happens to the car and I'll be able to have a current paint code.

she does I just put a real radio in it for her the weekend before, you know with the whole i-pod bluetooth thingy cause cd's are not cool either man I'm getting old well older not quite done being a kid yet. She helped strip the interior of what was going to be her first car (69 VW bug) but the amount of money and time it was gonna take made it not really worth it. That will be the pismo bug eventually. But thats another post later

that might not be a bad idea problem is color codes for motorcycles are harder to come by I'll have to check the paint computer and see. Thanks for that I forgot they had that blue in 07 cause the only two I found were red and black.

she's a good kid and I never got that sort of thing when I was young I had to work for everything and I mean everything. I absolutely believe that kids should learn things are not just given and she has earned it by doing well in school and staying out of trouble. she does what's asked of her without any argument. So I can't afford to give her a bmw ( and I wouldn't anyway ) but I think she deserves a nice car that's not embarrassing to drive around in.

I'm gonna spray out a few test panels of each and go from there. My first car was in worse shape than this. My dad handed me a spot weld remover bit and had me cut off the core support for my bad@ss 84 1/2 mercury escort. That's right folks the rare one of a kind escort with a mercury lynx front end. then we put the new (recycled) one on and pieced her togethor. I think this is a better deal.
