(Rhythm @ Sep. 24 2007,14:16) The Cockpit......V1Radar Detector,Lazer Blinder and my bluetooth 2820 GPS GARMIN (all maps of the U.S.,Canada,satelite radio and weather).
If you decide to get a laser jammer be sure to install the on and off switch.

First, how did you post several photos in the same post? Second, if you have a jammer, do you need a detector?

Jammers are of course FCC illegal, since you are broadcasting unlicensed radar. Still the fine for the jammer might be easily offset by one bad ticket. What's the brand and where do you buy one?

Radar jamming is illegal, however lazer is not. There is no frequency being broadcasted, its a diode light which blinds the laser beam from the P.O laser gun. My jammer is a Blinder.

Also there has been occasions where my V1 didn't detect lazer because the line of sight was blocked by my body. With radar the V1 detects in any radar guns cases because radar will usually bounce off other object, but the laser gun the P.O use has to hit the blinder reciever head on or any laser detector with a direct line of sight (head on), thats why I placed one of the blinder recievers on the tail section and the other directly in front below the radar detector.

(TurboSN95 @ Sep. 25 2007,09:09) Finally got off my @ss and installed the wiring for my Valentine1. Can't wait to try it out tomorrow.
Congrats! Just FYI, in the bright light of the day, at speed (when you need it the most) you are not going to hear it or see it in time to do any good. Gonna have to pony up the $$ for their 'listening' device that will velcro on top. Its the only thing about V1 that I don't like, not the function, the price of the device. Its right at fifty bucks! And then, you still have to buy earbuds. Page down. In the long run its worth it though. Early warning is GREAT!

Thanks for the warning, I actually just tested it out and rode into Middletown, NY this morning for work. I am able to hear it at 75 mph, but after that its tough. And you are normally looking straight ahead, not at the detector.

So I do want to try out some sort of earpiece/headphone. Problem is I like wearing ear-plugs and now i'll have one earplug and one headphone, lol. Unless I bought Valentine's conceiled display and I mounted it further up so it would be more visible.

In re: "So I do want to try out some sort of earpiece/headphone. Problem is I like wearing ear-plugs and now i'll have one earplug and one headphone, lol."

I found a pair of earbuds on ebay with an extended cord and they work very well, almost as good as earplugs. Cost was less than $10. I route the cord under my tankbag so its not flying in the air.

What you guys want to do is buy bluetooth adaptors like this one (http://store.kyocera-wireless.com/product_detail.aspx?productID=5065 ) that plug into any device that has a audio output, than the sound is converted to bluetooth. Buy these headphones http://www.motorola.com/motoinf....tId=177 . This way you can hear mutliple devices at the sametime including your cell phone, mp3 player and so on. These headphones are wireless and they are behind the neck design which should be fine with helmet on. What I was going to do is run my radar detector audio output to my storage unit on bike where my laser jammer output is there. Use a " Y " connector with the bluetooth adaptor to run both devices from the same input. Than I would hear the alarm easly within my cordless headphones. I think that will work great.

Pretty cool but it won't fit under a helmet and I like to hear audio in stereo. Heres what I use to hear all of my gadets (cellphone, radar detector, gps, satelite radio)when riding on my Busa.
I like to use my PAV2, a multiple amp (to overcome windnoise) and my cellphone paired with my Bluetooth gps, the gps is also amplified through my PAV2. And a perfect headset for listening and talking on your phone when wearing your helmet. I can listen and talk up to 90 mph using my earbuds with my EDSET kit.

I also have this one for putting around, especially when seating on the wing of a airplane, talk about crystal clear.

Not cheap but worth every penny, my edset headset unit.

Heres an option I purchased along with my edset so I can use my own earbuds instead of thehelmet speakers, whichyou don't have to buy by the way. I would seriously recommend anyone riding a sportbike to invest in this adapter and leave the helmet speakers to those riding with a full cover windscreen.

Heres what I will be getting in addition to my V1 to free up an audio port on my PAV2.

Rhythm: Those headphones will work under the helmet because they lay on the back your neck and if you looked at them they have inner ear plugs for your ear and they are also stereo as well. The only thing that you cannot get in stereo sound with is the cell phone and that is the flaw of the cell phone. This is cheap and not costly. The headphones are flexible and water and perspiration resistant.

I like your setup that posted....I just want something that has no wires and I want all the wires to be secured inside the storage compartment for secuirty. Bluetooth works great for these types of solutions.

No argument from me partna, thank for posting. It's good to see someone else bringing something to the plate. Lordy knows I hate being attached to wires.

I was just showing what else is out there, no pun intended.

Radar jamming is illegal??

...so is speeding....

Maybe I'll just put a "harley" decal on my tank. Apparently you can drink all day on poker runs, get drunk and pilot a 900 lb bike thru heavy traffic and not get hassled at all, as long as you're not speeding.

Don't do that, it'll only make your bike go slower and leak oil.

Yes, "Radar" jamming is illegal. But "Laser" jamming isn't. There is a difference here. The jammers are for the laser guns only, which is used alot of these days. You should go to you tube here and see this video. Trust me, you want these units on your bike.

They work beautifully. Especially if you have a black colored busa, decreases the chance that the laser work as efficent. I have this installed and I wish that I had done this at Day 1.

Sorry to be the bearer of bad news guys but If the officer just puts the laser on the rider of the bike you're caught.

(TurboSN95 @ Sep. 25 2007,10:36) Figured I would post this on here as a warning for anyone looking to buy an Escort. My friend has had nothing but problems with his and now is getting horrible service.

I bought 2 of them in a 3 year period…BOTH of them broke AND I got a speeding ticket with each one of them. The first one was with Laser so I gave Escort the benefit of the doubt…the second one was with k Band. How bad is the radar detector when you get a ticket with k Band??? The first one had the speaker go after about a year and ½. It was out of warranty so I had to buy another one. The second one started scrolling “Service required†after about 10 months. I can’t find my receipt so I now have to pay $60.00 to have it fixed. 3 years, 2 radar detectors, 2 tickets and they still have the nerve to charge me the 60.00. Total cost to me $1160.00. It would have been cheaper to just get tickets. BTW, Escorts customer relations team is horrible and Michael Kennedy has to be the worst of all of them. DON’T BUY FROM THEM!
I've had my 8500 for about 2 years now and haven't had any trouble whatsoever, however it HAS saved me many many times from tickets. It usually gives me about a mile to react. Even on I-85 which has a lot of hills. It's never broken or anything, and I leave it in the car all the time, so it's always subject to extreme heat and cold. I haven't put it on the busa yet, but in my car it's worked every time. It's kept me out of probably 30 or 40 tickets or so. It impresses me just about every time.
