Hey Bentvalve. For what it's worth, I own both and obviously your friends don't travel much on the busa. They are totally different bikes. Both fun and both with a purpose. If you travel much or long distances you WILL miss the busa smoothness. If you're a twisty rider then you will NOT miss it...

IMO for one bike, you made the right decision. I have both and the new 1K is a specialized tool able to do some fun things very well. The busa is the best overall tool and does a lot of things well. You would have been disappointed had you traded one for the other.
