Please can someone tell me which way the direction arrow should point on the crown of a Wossner turbo piston. Cheers Steve.

D.I.Y Turbo Build, Hayabusa in a Reliant Kitten car.. :)

Personally I think you should put it in a car like my Westfield, that handles and stops already, but each to their own and all that. You need to budget for a heavy duty output shaft if you can, as the extra weight of the car overstretches the originals strength. You can get one from Nova...

    I think I've melted stuff!!

You're probably right Richard, I'm already geared as tall as I can go with the diff, I could go larger diameter rear wheels. But I'm also going to have to figure a way of letting the cases breath better too, as this seems to be a big part of the problem. I don't normally race at circuits with...

    I think I've melted stuff!!

Number 3 is shot, just looking up the bottom, the cap is black and the sump is covered in gold. My catch tank is full of oil and the dry sump tank is lower than normal, I'm not sure if the rings have blown by and pressured the crankcases, causing oil starvation. What with the abnormally long...

    I think I've melted stuff!!

Had a thought, I was lifting off slightly towards the end of the straight to stop it bouncing off the limiter, perhaps this did more damage than good as it could have leaned it out.

    I think I've melted stuff!!

I was racing at Silverstone at the weekend, it has very long straights so I was holding the car flat out for probably 8 to 10 seconds at a time. I had it on the dyno a couple of race hours earlier, I have an MBE 9A4 standalone ECU with 3 bar MAP sensor. The tuner set it up the AFR at about...

    First win with the turbo

Cheers for your comments gents, if only the car fraternity were so accepting of something different. They don't like to admit, in a lightweight car, you can't beat a bike engine. The green Caterham I pass at the beginning spent about $15,000 on his engine to get 290bhp and $8,000 on a...

    First win with the turbo

I did my first meeting of the year Saturday and despite a problem with the clutch slave cylinder in the first race while leading my class, I finally got everything working as it should in the second race:cheerleader: I actually turned the boost down slightly too, as there had been a Rallycross...

    busa fighter build

I had all sorts of problems with my car loom, but the dedicated MBE loom sorted it all out. I run a 9A4 like you. Good luck with it mate.

Exhaust opinons for busa powered kit car?

Which way round is your engine mounted? Is it the same as in the bike or longitudanal like mine? Before I fitted the turbo I used to run with 4 into 1 header, with a Yoshi Titanium Gsxr1000 can, I got it from Ebay with a scuff up for $60  I just mounted it with the scuff facing down...

    Intercooler

I managed to squeeze a little intercooler above my rad. It all wedges in the nosecone..well some of it, there's an oil cooler in front of bottom part of the rad too! Sorry but I don't often get a thread that has even the vaguest connection to my set up :banghead: But I...
