Yep.... The '09 1K is gonna be a screamer. 190+ crank HP is gonna be damn near 170 at the rear wheel - DAYUMMMMM. And the 448 is CURB weight, not dry weight. The '09 lost some weight this year. Also the '09 has a shorter wheelbase AND a longer swing arm and stacked tranny = Better handling...
Unless it is hot and dry, and you are riding HARD.... Then you will not need or get the most out of DOT race tires.
I run DOTs in the summer when I'm riding HARD (yes, knee down speeds) and the pavement has the heat waves coming off it in the distance, and when doing track days - almost...
....Or use the mirror bolts and place a rubber washer under the head of the bolt - between the bolt head and the fairing.
I used White Duct Tape so it matched my bike and pulled the headlight fuse. No issues with glue or residue when I pulled the tape later. A bit of WD-40 or goof off...
Yep Yep!!! I heard there are lots of slack jawed spectators in the pits when I come through T9
But at that pace it really pushes the front on the exits, and I've warped a set of rotors at a track day, and I've drug the right lower (where it bulges over the clutch cover) when I pace...
The best I've run is 1:15.xxx But I can run pretty consistent 1:16 - 1:17. I start pushing the front through 2, 3 and 9 if I try to run any faster than that. It's comfortable to run a 1:18 or so pace... anything faster and it becomes alot of "work" and the bike starts to feel "loose". I know...

A WEEK?!?!?! NICE!
That is by FAR the best looking 08 or 09! Congrats! :beerchug:
I'm getting the '09 Gix 1k (and selling the Busa). I'm sorely disappointed in the color options for the '09 gixxer 1K in the U.S. I'll probably paint it as one of my first mods. LOL!
Mine started leaking at about 10K miles. I got mine replaced UNDER WARRANTY.
That's right - WARRANTY. As long as you haven't wheelied it (they will check for signs of hard wheelies on the axle etc...) they cover it under warranty.
Since they were already doing the fork seals, I had them...
Very likely his R6 is off as well... All Japanese sport bikes speedos are off and read faster than you are actually going. Typically a 5-7% error.
I thought this was common knowledge? :poke:
